Over the past weekend, Coogee SLSC sent 7 of our own IRB Drivers and Crew to attend an all Women's IRB ALBERT Course hosted by SLSNSW and Fingal Bay SLSC.
The main aims of the course were to:
The weekend, which consisted of rockwork, hands-on mechanical development, improvement of Crew and Drivers technique, lots of laughs and also an extremely empowering social environment, resulted in us all learning more ways for women to operate and be involved in IRBs. Making up nearly 20% of the course, the Coogee Team also got to share their own techniques and knowledge from our cumulative experiences. It was an amazing experience for us all and we have all come home super excited, and a little bit sore, to share what we learnt with everyone back at Coogee!
