Where can i find parking?
Timed and un-timed parking is available on the surrounding streets. The Surf club does not provide on-site parking.

CAN I HIRE MY OWN EXTERNAL CATERERS?
Unfortunately no. Coogee SLSC is a not-for-profit organisation, and relies heavily on the commission of our preferred caterers.

Can I bring my own alcohol?
BYO Alcohol is not permitted. If you wish to source any drinks that aren’t included on our beverage list, please contact our events team and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
CAN I STORE MY BELONGINGS?
Unfortunately, no. The club will not be held responsible for theft or damage of the guest’s personal property.
What Furniture options do you supply?
Furniture is included in the room hire price:
- Trestle Tables (1800mm x 740mm x 700mm).
- Tall rectangular benches & stools (1800mm x 750mm x 1100mm). Seats 6-8.
- Square café tables (800mm x 800mm x 730mm). Seats 4.
- Tall round cocktail tables & bar stools (600mm D x 1130mm). Seats 4.
- Small round banquet tables. (5ft) Seats 8-10
- Large round banquet tables (6ft). Seats 8-11.
- White polypropylene chairs.
- Rattan armchair settees x 2
Does the Surfclub have accessability options?
Yes! The Ocean room has a state of the art, modern disability lift (exclusively for disability access), and a rear door access ramp.

Is my event subject to price changes?

Can i have a look at the venue?
We know that The Ocean Room is even more stunning in person (believe us we get to see it every day!). However, if you wish to see the venue, we ask that you contact our events team to arrange a site inspection, as we are often hosting events and may not be able to accommodate walk-ins.
What days is the surfclub available for hire?
The Ocean Room at Coogee SLSC is only available for hire Monday – Saturday.
We do not hire out the room on Sundays.

can i book a smaller space within the venue?
The Ocean Room at Coogee SLSC offers guests exclusive use of the venue.
Smaller groups cannot hire out a section of the room/balcony. However, Partitions can be placed to separate the room for a more intimate space.
The entire room hire fee will still apply.

Does the club have a designated smoking area?
The Ocean Room does not have a designated smoking area – this includes the balcony. Guests are required to step outside the venue if they wish to smoke.
Can i hire live entertainment?
Absoluelty! there are no noise restrictions past 11.30pm, all bands and DJ’s must provide their own speakers, monitors & lighting etc.
Are there any restrictions on decorations?
The use of confetti and glitter is strictly prohibited. If evidence of these products is found after your event, a cleaning fee will apply. No permanent hanging of material is permitted (thumb tacks, staples, nails), please contact the events team to discuss if you have further queries.
Is there a minimum spend?
There is no minimum spend.
Is the surfclub available for hire on public holidays?
subject to availability – a 25% surcharge will apply.
Does the club supply cutlery/plates/napkins?
No, your caterer will need to supply this.
Does the club supply a tea & coffee station?
No, your caterer will need to supply this. The club can however, supply a hot water urn.
Does the club have a loading zone?
Yes! Our loading zone ramp can be accessed through the member's car park at the rear of the venue, next to the two roller garage doors.
What time can i start my event?
You may begin your event any time after 10AM, but due to residential noise regulations and our licensing restrictions, the bar must close no later 11:30PM.
Do I need to have security for my event?
A security guard will be allocated to you if you're event is taking place in the evening throughout peak season, or your guest numbers are over 100.
