On Sunday “Dad’s (and Mum’s) Army V” celebrated 15 years since they completed their bronze course.
In March 2009 31 candidates gained their Bronze Medallion, 26 of these patrolled (the rest did water safety) – today 9 of them are still patrolling (8 at Coogee), with 12 having patrolled for at least 10 years - a combined total of 7,903 hours. Those still patrolling include Helen Murphy (812 hours), Heather Hawkins (706 hours), Sharon Deans (618 hours), Bruce Fulton, Ian Mourant, Kath Power, Pam Radin and Rod Wallace. This was one of the first courses I taught as a Trainer, and I’m pretty sure this is a record for retention rate. Congrats to everyone. Beck Mister |
