 On Sunday “Dad’s (and Mum’s) Army V” celebrated 15 years since they completed their bronze course. In March 2009 31 candidates gained their Bronze Medallion, 26 of these patrolled (the rest did water safety) – today 9 of them are still patrolling (8 at Coogee), with 12 having patrolled for at least 10 years - a combined total of 7,903 hours. Those still patrolling include Helen Murphy (812 hours), Heather Hawkins (706 hours), Sharon Deans (618 hours), Bruce Fulton, Ian Mourant, Kath Power, Pam Radin and Rod Wallace. This was one of the first courses I taught as a Trainer, and I’m pretty sure this is a record for retention rate. Congrats to everyone. Beck Mister

State Championships 2024 Masters Pointscore: 112 (11th) Date: 13 - 14 March 2024 Location: Queenscliff SLSC  The 2024 State Age titles, once again, saw the competition being hosted by the Sydney Northern Beaches with the events being staged between North Steyne and Queenscliff Surf Clubs for the Water and Beach events and at Freshwater Surf Club for the R&R, scheduled over 4 days from 7th to 10th March. The entry numbers were the biggest in quite a few years and it was set-up for some great competition over the 4 days where every medal and point would be hard earned. With the great training that the coaches had put in, we were quietly confident in the team we had selected would do the Club proud.

State Championships 2024 Age Pointscore: 234 (2nd) Date: 7 - 10 March 2024 Location: Queenscliff SLSC  The SLS Sydney Branch Championships were held on 24-25 February 2024 at Maroubra Beach. Competitors faced testing conditions across the Youth, Opens and Masters events. Coogee achieved outstanding success within all age groups with our Minnows once again setting the benchmark, placing 2nd in the overall point score. A strong Masters contingent competed, with many new faces, as well as experienced regulars.
 We are pleased to announce that Coogee Surf Life Saving Club has formed a strategic alliance with AusTriathlon and NSWTriathlon whereby our community event, the RunSwim Coogee Aquathlon (combining multiple runs and swims), is now a sanctioned event.
This partnership provides an opportunity for participants of our RunSwim event to gain information on how they can explore the world of multisport triathlons and add more healthy lifestyle racing to their list of activities they enjoy. In turn it promotes the event further to current NSW Triathlon members, creating greater exposure and local recognition for the event.  Surf Life Saving Sydney
