Coogee Carnival
The Coogee Cranival has been held annually since 1909, with enforced breaks during both World Wars and only one cancellation for massive seas (the surf race was held to allow an insurance claim).
The carnival has included many Sydney and MetropolitanChampionships, the first Open NSW Surf Championships ever held in 1965, and a very successful stint over ten years as the finalist venue of the Mayne Nickless Champions of Champions Surf Boat Event. Coogee Carnival is the longest running Surf Carnival in Australia, and the oldest continuously run Surf Carnival in Sydney Branch. In 2019 the Carnival had a new and exciting format, with the focus on fast racing to prepare all the competitors for the Aussie Titles. For Season 19-20 the Coogee Carnival has been postponed due to the date clashes with other Carnivals in the Sydney region. We aim to be pack bigger and better in 2021-2022 |
