A COVID SAFE EVENT
|
The event starts with a 4.1km run from Goldstein Reserve at Coogee Beach and heads south to the iconic Wylie’s Baths before looping around and heading north to Clovelly Beach where the 1st swim takes place.
After completing the 1st swim, competitors will then run from Clovelly around to Gordons Bay, entering the water for the 2nd swim at the dive ramp and heading to the beach in Gordons Bay. This is a beautiful swim over the Underwater Nature Trail and once you exit the beach at Gordons Bay, you’ll then complete a 1km coastal run to the northern end of Coogee Beach. When entering Coogee Beach at the northern end, it’s a soft sand run to the water where competitors will then complete the final 1km ocean swim and sprint to the finish line! For those of you who do any sort of beach training, you’ll know that these distances and multiple transitions will challenge everyone and being a timed event, adds that little extra intensity for many! |

How do i register
Registrations are online only and we recommend registering as early as possible as this is a popular event and numbers will be capped. What EQUIPMENT Can I COMPETE IN?
You can wear tri-suits (or a wetsuit if you wish) but you will need to wear this for the entire event with the blue high-vis rash vest over the top. You must also wear the swim cap provided as part of your registration for all 3 swims for safety reasons. Pool buoys, fins/flippers and paddles are not allowed. What's included in my registration?
RunSwim Coogee Aquathlon high vis rash vest and branded silicone swim cap. A COVID SAFE EVENT
The event will run under the Public Health Orders that exist at the time. Entrants will be required to sign in when entering the start area using the Services NSW QR code. How much does it cost TO ENTER?
To register is $75 and included in this fee is a branded rash singlet/vest and premium silicone swim cap. This event is run by the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club which is a charity organisation and this is an important fundraising activity where proceeds go towards maintaining vital lifesaving equipment and services on the beach to keep the community safe. |
COASTAL WALK PATH closures
To make this a safe event for competitors and the public, we are pleased to announce that the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk will be closed to non participants between Clovelly and Coogee during the event. There will be diversions in place for the public. When are presentations held?
This will take place around the starting area on Goldstein Reserve at approximately 9:30am. Marshals, Water safety & first aid assistance
Coogee SLSC is known for providing the highest level of water safety around. We have lifesavers with tubes and on boards together with surf rescue boats and jet skis. Simply put your arm up to attract the attention of one of the Lifesavers from Water Safety. They will come to your aid and bring you back into shore if necessary. There is also first aid located at various locations across the course. Do we wear shoes for the swims?
The short answer is yes - you will need to wear running shoes as there is a 4.1km run before any of the swim legs. For the first swim in Clovelly, this is just a short 200m swim followed by a short 400m run to the dive ramp in Gordons Bay for the 2nd swim and it is here that you will still need shoes as there are many rocks to walk over before you start this swim. However, when you enter Coogee Beach at the northern end, you have the choice of removing your shoes before you start the final 1km swim. After crossing the finish in the centre of the beach, you will need to make your way over to the northern end to then collect your shoes and please note, we do not take responsibility for your shoes at this location. We also recommend having some way of identifying your shoes from others that may be of the same make and colour. |
