Branch Champs Wrap Up

The Senior Competition Team had a successful weekend coming 3rd overall at the 2025 Branch Championships. Thank you especially to Andrew Bloxsom who coordinated the entire event and the First Aid, IRB, Official and Water Safety volunteers who made it possible for us to be on the beach. 

​Our Champion Lifesaver competed in board, swim, tube, sprint, resus and theory - it is an all-round event.
Some highlights:

• U17 Caitlyn Lee 1st and Annabelle Hankin 2nd
• President Ben Heenan 3rd in Masters
• Rob Illidge 3rd in Masters
• Congratulations also to Courtney Codd who was moved up an age group, and our U15 males, Pavlos who missed out on a Bronze by .5 of a mark, Max Wu and Tom Macassey.

 
The Opens water team had a great weekend bringing home a few medals amongst other great results.
Some highlights:

• Courtney’s 3rd in Boards and 4th in Iron
• Kai’s 3rd in Board and Ironman
• Pat’s and Dan’s 15th and 16th in Boards Semi
• Sophia’s 23rd in Board Final
• Dylan’s 13th in both Board and Ironman.

 
Well done Masters on a very successful and fun campaign.  We had many new faces as well as old hands.

• Donna Cox 1st and Jen Trinca 2nd in the 60+ 2 km run
• Linda Walsh 1st Iron Woman;
• Linda, Michelle Donoghue and Mel Toomey 1st in 150+ Board Relay
• Linda, Nicola Logan, Donna and Rebecca Wilkinson 1st in beach relay,
• Tony Sheppard, Richard Stuetz, Raul Flores Veloz and Luke Gardiner 1st in beach relay,

 
Great weekend for the Boaties with 2 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 bronze, a 4th and a 5th. 
Highlight of the day was the open relay when the DMG’s, Sons & u19 boys came 2nd.
 
The Beach team had so many good results and plenty to build on for the remainder of the season.

• U17 Female Beach Relay - 2nd (Amelia Byrne, Sophia Costello, Niamh Lynch, Evie Bowie)

U19 Female Beach Relay  - 3rd (Amelia Byrne, Isabel Littleton, Evie Bowie, Jemima Sewell)
