AWARD HOLDERS PROGRAM 2026

Course Start Date: Tuesday 4th August 2026

​The program makes surf lifesaving accessible to people who are unable to complete the practical component of the Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate. This may be for any reason, including but not limited to, people who haven’t learnt to swim, have low confidence in the surf, or have a disability or injury.

SPRING BRONZE 2026

Course Start Date: Tuesday 15th September 2026

This course equips participants with the core patrol and surf-awareness skills required to participate in surf lifesaving operations. It is the foundational award for becoming a surf lifesaver at Coogee SLSC and across Australia. Participants must be aged 15 on the day of assessment.

  • Classroom sessions: Tuesdays, 6:30–9:00 pm, 15 September to 20 October 2026
  • Beach sessions: Saturdays, 8:00–10:00 am, 19 September to 24 October 2026
  • Assessment Part A: 27 October 2026
  • Assessment Part B: 31 October 2026
  • Graduation: 1 November 2026

THUNDER BRONZE - ONE

Course Start Date: 9th September 2026

Eligible Members will be contacted by the Education Team.
This course is for current Coogee Surf Life Saving Club's SRC patrolling members. ​It is a condensed course that builds on the skills acquired during the SRC course.

  • Are current Coogee Surf Life Saving Club members,
  • Are currently proficient in SRC,
  • Have completed a minimum of 10 patrol hours as SRC within the last 12 months,
  • Have completed their SRC less than 3 years prior to commencing their BM,
  • Are 15 years old on the date of their BM final assessment.

LIGHTNING BRONZE

Course Start Date: 17th January 2027

The Lightning Bronze is a fast-tracked format designed primarily for participants aged 15 to 30, although anyone aged 15 and over may enrol. It is an intensive full-day course delivered over six consecutive days.
​
After completing the course, participants will be allocated to a patrol team and expected to patrol at Coogee Beach. This commitment is approximately one half-day shift per month.

DAD'S & MUM'S ARMY XXXI 2027

Course Start Date: 27th January 2027

This course equips participants with the core patrol and surf-awareness skills required to participate in surf lifesaving operations. It is the foundational award for becoming a surf lifesaver at Coogee SLSC and across Australia. Participants will develop skills in surf awareness, resuscitation, basic first aid, and rescue techniques.
​
This course is for parents of Coogee Minnows who would like to assist with water safety and patrol activities.
