websiteWestpac Bank has extended it high profile support of community activities to the Coogee area with support of competition area with in the club.
Westpac in 2002 supported the Coogee boaties with the purchase of a new boat for competition in conjunction with Customcall. This boat has been seen extensively on the Channel 7 coverage of the Australian titles and was also included in the Australian Surf Life Saving Goodwill tour to Japan. Surf boat rowing promotes team work and dedication, ideals that Westpac encourage amongst their staff.
Westpac continued support through the 2003/2004 season by funding a touring team of over 60 competitors to the State and Australian Championships. Coogee boaties returned from the Australian Championships in 5 th place, and now in training to take gold! Junior competitors got a taste for the elite competition to one day also take the top spot on the dias.
In 2004 Westpac again has supported the boat area with the purchase of a brand new fully equipped surf boat for over 25 people to use aged from 16-50 years. Westpac continue to support Surf Life Saving at both a local and national level, with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter promoting a very special community spirit.
