Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate

course overview

The aim of the Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certificate course is to develop your skills and knowledge to use oxygen, airway management devices, and automated external defibrillators during resuscitation, and to administer oxygen to conscious or unconscious breathing casualties.
You will also develop knowledge and skills to enable you to demonstrate competence in the nationally recognised units of competency:

  • HLTFA404A Apply advanced resuscitation techniques
  • PUAEME003C Administer oxygen in an emergency situation
  • PUAOPE010C Operate an automated external defibrillator in an emergency

This course is typically run over a week with training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights, all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

October 2011

  • Training: 25th Oct (7 - 9pm), 27th Oct (7 - 9pm), 30th Oct (9am - 4pm)
  • Exam: Thursday 3rd November 7:00pm

January 2012

  • Training: 17th Jan (7-9pm), 19th Jan (7-9pm), 21st Jan (9-4pm), 22nd Jan (9-12pm)
  • Exam w/c 23 Jan (avoiding Australia day!)

March 2012

  • Training: 20th Mar (7-9pm),  22nd Mar (7-9pm), 24th Mar (9-4pm), 25th Mar (9-12pm)
  • Exam w/c 26 Mar

Exam dates will be confirmed two weeks prior to each course.  Please note that priority will be given to members of patrols which are short on this award, and those already on the waiting list.
